Dr. Slim Feriani - Chairman & Chief Investment Officer

Slim Feriani is Chairman and CIO of London based Gulf Central Agency Asset Management. He has 20 years experience in global markets across all asset classes. He was Managing Partner and CEO of MENA Capital prior to joining GCA AM. He held the roles of Executive Chairman, CEO and CIO at Advance Emerging Capital (AEC) between 2005 and 2014, where he managed emerging markets funds and the pioneering frontier markets fund that he launched in 2007. During his tenure at AEC, Slim analysed and invested in several traditional and alternative funds across all asset classes operating in over 50 countries. Prior to that he worked at Martin Currie from 2000 to 2004, where he was Director and Senior Fund Manager for long only and hedge fund products. From 1997 to 1999, Slim was Senior Analyst for MENA at Nomura.

Slim completed an MBA and a Ph.D.in Finance & Investments at The George Washington University, where he taught Finance and International Finance for 7 years and currently serves on the advisory board of the business school. He was born and raised in Tunisia and is fluent in English, French and Arabic.

 

Dr. Wladimir Ledochowski - Senior Advisor

Wladimir Ledochowski was appointed Deputy General Manager of RZB/ Raiffeisenbank International London Branch in 2003 with specific responsibility for Operations and the development of new business relationships for the RZB Group in the UK market and stayed there until he retired In June 2011. He is now acting as a Senior Advisor at Gulf Central Agency Asset Management .

His previous appointments have included a Directorship at Ecoban Finance (Europe) Ltd (1998-2003) where he specialised in the distribution of Ecoban’s emerging market finance facilities in the European markets and Moscow Narodny Bank (1984- 1998) where he was a member of the Management Committee in London responsible for the trade finance business, it’s branch in Singapore and the subsidiary in Moscow. Wladimir also spent time as Managing Director of Fiduc Finance & Trading Corp Ltd (1986-1994), initiating the Group’s investment banking activities. From 1981-1994 he also was part of the Management of Trade Finance International Ltd, a UK export finance company with acitivities worldwide.

He holds a Doctorate of Law of the University of Salzburg, Austria and is fluent in German, English and Spanish.

 

Funda Ayhan - Senior Advisor

Funda Ayhan has spent the past twenty years covering Emerging Markets with roles ranging from equity research, investment banking and fund management. Her career has included roles at Nomura International PLC where she managed the Global Emerging Markets equity desk and prior to that the Russian equity desk at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. Funda was also a Director  on the Emerging European equity desk at ING Financial Markets where she covered global institutional investors. Earlier in her career she was a fund manager with AIB Govett in London where she ran the asset allocation and stock picking for the Turkish and Southern European markets. Having started her career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen & Co, she went on to qualify as a CPA in addition to attaining a Level 1 CFA. Funda has divided her time across various geographies including Sydney, Istanbul, Moscow and London.

Malik Annabi - Senior Advisor

Malik Annabi has been acting as Senior Advisor for the Maghreb countries for Raiffeisen Bank International since 2006. In conjunction with this position Malik is a Managing Partner  of  Ethix Consulting in Casablanca.  Prior to that, Malik was the country manager at Arab Bank for Morocco, for four years, and during the same period,  he was a board member of the Arab-Tunisian Bank in Tunis.  His career also included two long stints with Gulf International Bank in London, working on Southern Europe between 1987 and 1991, and as Vice-President in charge of the Maghreb countries between 1997 and 2001.  In the interim period, Malik was instrumental in helping develop the notoriety of Morocco as a new emerging market in the early 90s, in his position as Director at Banque Commerciale du Maroc in charge of International Relations, which included correspondent banking, relations with foreign investors active on the Casablanca stock exchange, and relations with the global custodians. Early on in his career, Malik worked seven years with Bank of America, in London and Bahrain, and two years with the IFC in Washington DC. Malik holds a Bachelors Degree from the Sorbonne and is a graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris

Joseph Choi - Senior Advisor

Joseph's expertise in the financial industry is wide and deep on the back of his work life in the City of London for over 15 years. Before joining GCA Asset Management, he was Managing Director of Woori Investment & Securities. Joseph has advised on financial transactions involving English Premier League football clubs, Renewable Energy and Property Acquisition. Prior to that, Joseph was the Managing Director of Hyundai Securities, overseeing a wide range of financial activities for Hyundai Business Group which was the biggest conglomerate in Korea at that time. Whist leading an international finance team in Seoul he was appointed as a financial advisor to Korean commercial banks, Korea Electric Power Corp, Korea Tobacco & Ginseng and to the City of Seoul in their euro dollar funding and privatisation. Joseph has twice received awards for his contribution to the Korean economy by the Finance Minister. He holds two BA's in English Literature and International Trade, respectively, with Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, Korea and speaks Korean, English, Japanese and Russian.
